Our Services 

Occupational Therapy assessment

We work predominantly with children, teenagers and young adults however depending on your needs we will be happy to discuss assessment and goals with the adult population, if we feel we can support you optimally. 

Therapy intervention

A 75 minute intervention (45 minute face to face time) working towards goals developed from an OT assessment. Our occupational therapist can assist individuals

in the areas of, but not limited to:

  • Social skills

  • Identifying and regulating emotions

  • Fine motor skills/handwriting

  • Support to develop play skills

  • Attention and concentration

  • Sensory regulation

  • Self-care support including mealtimes, sleep & toileting

For your safety and location purposes, we can offer online therapy sessions as well as sessions in the most convenient place for you ie. your home, local park, library etc.

functional capacity assessments& Report

A comprehensive report for new NDIS plans or updated functional performances.

Our Functional Capacity Assessment and Report allocate maximum of 12 hours of billable work; including Initial meeting/assessment, subsequent or follow-up assessment, further collateral communication, report formatted to NDIA standards, recommendations. Based on recent changes these may need review and adjustment prior to NDIA plan reviews or for updated Positive Behaviour Support Plans.

Advocacy phone-calls, goal setting and reports

With consent, your therapist can provide support to advocate your needs and justify intervention across contexts (to NDIA, other providers, specialist, diagnostic groups, schools etc). Your therapist can supply supporting documents or verbal handovers in meetings to key stakeholders in the service users care.

resources and home program development

Resource development or home programs developed for aligning interventions across contexts. These are personalised programs and resources for your child. Depending on reasoning and ease of implementation, these may or may not require an OT assessment

Kindy screens available at schools to address new students and their baseline abilities upon attending school, to support them into a therapy program or to understand what supports they may need for classrooms to work on developing their skills.

Equipment applications
for ndis

An application completed based on therapists recommendations and the reasonable and necessary NDIA criteria for equipment provision. This excludes complex home modifications and postural assessment for seating systems or seating applications.

OT student and
OT mentoring

Senior OT Kate offers mentoring and supervision sessions for Occupational Therapy Students or Junior Occupational Therapists to assist in the debriefing process, to develop clinical justification skills, coaching to support OT Level Progression, and to just be a brain to pick for some tricky incidences you may face. Kate has had the privilege to lead the Curtin Student Supervisor team and has seen over 20 students commence their practice. It is her passion to support up and coming OT's to be the best version of themselves and be great colleagues one day.
